Dust mites are allergens. House dust mite allergy is very common and is associated with asthma, eczema and allergic rhinitis, especially in climates such as Australia where the allergen is present in large amounts.

Use a damp or electrostatic cloth to dust hard surfaces, including hard floors, Vacuum carpets and soft furnishings weekly, using a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter vacuum cleaner lessens the allergy.
