    Introduction

    Granuloma annulare (GA) is a chronic dermatological condition which presents as dermal papules and annular plaques. The specific cause of granuloma annulare is unknown. Granuloma annulare can be divided into various types, such as localized generalized granuloma annulare lesions, generalized granuloma annulare lesions, subcutaneous granuloma annulare, Perforating granuloma annulare and Arcuate dermal erythema.

    Epidemiology

    Both localized and generalized granuloma annulare are asymptomatic cutaneous lesions, which may improve in winter and worsen in summer. Subcutaneous granuloma annulare are asymptomatic soft tissue mass, which usually stable for months.

    Treatment and Statistics

    Localized lesions have been treated with potent topical corticosteroids and intralesional corticosteroids with varying total doses of steroid. The exact prevalence of GA is unknown, but it has been estimated that approximately 0.1 to 0.4 percent of new patients who present to dermatologists have GA.
