Angiostrongylus is an infection caused by parasites. It is a parasitic infection caused by Angiostrongylus Cantononsis. Mainly people are affected by this disease by taking raw food or uncooked vegetables, contaminated water. Infection mainly starts in oesophageal part of stomach and spreads to nervous system. Angiostrongylus cantonensis is a helminth of the phylus Nematoda order Strongylida, and superfamily Metastrongyloidea

Metastrongyloidea are characterized as long, slender, threadlike worms that reside in the lungs of the definitive host. Angiostrongylus costaricensis is a closely related worm that causes intestinal Angiostrongyliasis.
