Air Racing Historians Society

The society of Air Racing Historians was formed in 1984. This society was established with a small group of air racing enthusiasts with an intention to share their affection and effort towards aviation sport. Air Racing Historians society preserves the complete knowledge of races, racing records, race pilots and shares their effort of achievements and records. It started with 20 members including the president Tim Weinschenker, kenn smith the secretary, and executive committee includes the officers Bill Meixmer, Adam Snelly, Don Berliner, and Joe Stamm.

Since 1991 the society is working with fly-ins and air shows and displays current or historic air racing themes. It offers the rare opportunity to meet the people who have known by name and reputation from all over the world. The first air racing eras began 1909-1920 (Gordon Bennett Trophy Races), 1913-31 (Schneider Trophy Races), and post war races which were began in 1946-1960 and 1964-2012 (Reno Air Races) bought to the public attention with usage of engines and advanced streamlining advanced aviation technology.
