American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics

The American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics was supported in 1953.  In 1953 the academy was originally supported as "The National Association for Somato medicine and Rehabilitation" in Chicago. The Academy was formally incorporated in Cook County (Illinois) and received its charter on Gregorian calendar month 29, 1953. The corporation consisted of a general association of dentists engaged during a common field of rehabilitation whose purpose was for academic, research, and charitable reasons instead of for monetary system ones. Education and coaching of Maxillofacial Prosthetics to dentists was a serious concern. The Academy had firmly established for itself a leadership role in odontology and its leaders have incontestable the power and also the disposition to satisfy new challenges as they develop. The AAMP is an association of prosthodontists WHO (World Health Organization) area unit engaged within the art and science of Maxillofacial Prosthetics. Our mission is to accumulate and publicize data and experience; and, to push and maintain analysis programs involving ways, techniques and devices utilized in Maxillofacial Prosthetics. The Academy is dedicated to the study and observes of ways accustomed habilitate esthetics and performance of patients with non -inheritable, inborn and biological process defects of the top and neck; and of ways accustomed maintain the oral health of patients exposed to cancer-cidal doses of radiation or cytotoxic medication. The AAMP encourages analysis among its members and guests and conducts an Annual Research/Poster Award Competition.
