Dental Association of Women of the US was founded by Dr. Mary Stillwell-Kuesel. In 1921, at the annual meeting of the American Dental Association (ADA), 12 women dental specialists supervised the Federation of American women dentists, now known as the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD).The first president of AAWD, Evangeline M. Jordan, was an author of pediatric dentistry. She moved on to the University of Dental School in California in 1898.
