Dental Association of Women of the US was founded by Dr. Mary Stillwell-Kuesel. In 1921, at the annual meeting of the American Dental Association (ADA), 12 women dental specialists supervised the Federation of American women dentists, now known as the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD).The first president of AAWD, Evangeline M. Jordan, was an author of pediatric dentistry. She moved on to the University of Dental School in California in 1898.
Dental Association of Women of the US was started with 12 founding members. It includes pre-doctoral students, postdoctorial occupants, and employees who take part in, extracurricular activities to improve instructive to build support systems, mentoring, and company with dental experts.
The American Association of Women Dentists works in cooperation with organizations such as the National Dental Association, Hispanic Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Dental Assistants Association and Academy of General Dentistry. The core values ââof AAWD are passion, integrity, service, mentoring, promotion, teamwork, inclusiveness, collegiality. The New Executive Director is Donna Deans. The Smiles for Success (SFS) Foundation was built in 1995 by people from the American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD). SFS Foundation which helps women who cannot bear the cost of the burden of the dental examination and AAWD is also designated as the approved PACE (approval of the Continuing Education Program) program provider by the Academy of General Dentistry.Read More»
