From more than 70 countries, scientists, researchers, engineers, plant personnel, manufacturers, students, educators, sales and marketing professionals who account to more than 9,500 members comprise of The American Ceramic Society. Ceramics are used every day by materials professionals to develop energy solutions, improved medicine, recover the environment and sustain industrial innovations to improve the quality of life for better.

Ceramic components are vital in almost everything, – from cell phones, computers, armour and jet engines, sports equipment and hip replacements that fashion current life conceivable. The mission of ACerS is to develop the study and use of these ceramics and interrelated materials, for the profit of its members and people.

ACerS is comprised of a dynamic and diverse community. Almost 30% of its members are from outside of North America. Their members work at international companies such as Toyota, Kyocera and Corning, universities, minor businesses, and government organizations. ACerS provides its members with access to an wide-ranging collection of books and periodicals and online information. ACerS also handles three most cited journals of the ceramic publications in the world. ACerS conducts expos and conferences to educate and provide individuals working in ceramics-related materials with better knowledge on advances in the ceramics study.
