American Dental Hygienists Association

The American dental hygienists association (ADHA) is established in 1923, it representing the professional interests of more than 185,000 dental hygienistsacross the country and also said to be the largest national United States organization. Dental hygienists are well preventive in oral health professionals and are also licensed in dental hygiene, which provides clinical, educational, and therapeutic services that may supports total health through the promotion of optimal oral health. Its headquarters are located in the  North Side, Chicago. Majorly ADHA produce two publications such as a number of speciality newsletters and a national magazine and a scientific journal. The association headquarters in Chicago having more than 40 employees. The administrative body of the association and the board of trustees are composed of the President, the President-elect, the Vice President, the Treasurer, and the 12 trustees from each of the 12 districts in the United States.The legislative body of the ‘American dental hygienists’ association is the house of delegates, composed of 151 delegates, the house adopts policy statements and elects the officers of the association during its annual session each June.The 17 members of the board include 12 trustees and the officers, each representing a district.The ADHA also has a number of task forces and standing committees which follows seven councils and they were council on public relations, council on education, council on policy & bylaws, council on member services, council on public health, council on regulation and practice, council on research. The ADHA having the Institute for Oral Health (IOH) is a charitable foundation created by dental hygienists to provide funding for fellowships, community service grants, educational scholarships, and research grants throughout the United States.  For advances in the profession of dental hygiene through research, scholarships, and service in collaboration with the American dental hygienists association having the institute mission and same as for supporting the highest quality research and education programs in order to fulfil the mission of the ADHA institute for oral health having the institute goals.
