Anatomy Association of Southern Africa

The Anatomical Society of Southern Africa established in 1967, was born out of the Colloquia of the Anatomy Departments in the “old” Transvaal. Now Society signifies anatomy departments from all tertiary institutions in Southern Africa an   d maintains strong relations with Luanda, & Zambia. The annual meetings, website and list server promotes excellence in research and education and become the specialized for biomedical researchers and educators in South Africa focusing on anatomy in its largest sense. In adding to being the primary educators of students in the medical and allied health disciplines, investigation by ASSA members with anatomy, embryology and developmental biology, imaging, cell biology, genetics, movement science and numerous other exciting and developing areas.

Associates are globally recognized for their donations to developing and keeping anatomy as the spine of biomedical science.  Membership of the Society is exposed to all anatomists and to others with an attention in this research. The Society invites all those with an interest in anatomy to attend its conferences and current the results of their scientific work or case studies. Support is accessible to junior abstract staff and students who would wish to gain experience in presentation of their work. Southern Africa, The region Southern Africa for commitments of this topic includes South Africa and neighboring countries which constitute Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
