ARTHROSCOPY ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA:

The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) was formed in 1981 in response to a growing need for information and researched on the technique that is now involved in approximately one-third of all orthopedic procedures. It exists to "promote, encourage, support, and foster... the development and dissemination of knowledge... of arthroscopic surgery in order to improve upon the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculo-skeletal system." AANA is the primary source of continuing medical education for practicing arthoscopists and the most respected conduit for new techniques and information concerning the subspecialty. The Association's guidelines virtually define the practice of arthroscopic surgery. The collective vision of the membership defines the future of the discipline. The following documents were developed by the Archives Committee. The Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) is an ACCME approved organization which exists to promote, encourage, support and foster through all possible continuing medical education forums the commercial bias free development, improvement and dissemination of knowledge in the discipline of arthroscopic and minimally-invasive surgery. This is done to improve the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries to all aspects of the musculoskeletal system.The goal of the Association is to promote, encourage, support and foster through continuing medical education functions, the development and dissemination of knowledge in the discipline of arthroscopic surgery.
