Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology APAMT

The establishment of the Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology (APAMT) was a step of some eminent persons of Medical Toxicology field with an objective of excellence on the advancement in the field of toxicology to promote chemical safety poison control and treatment mainly in the Asia Pacific region. The Association was established in 1989. The sitting president of the association is Prof. Nicholas Buckley from Sydney, Australia. The general objective of the association is to promote the study of toxicology and toxinology by conducting scientific research and investigations. Another step is to foster and furnish the Asia Pacific region with all the new advancement in the same field through various information centres. It also provide a forum for exchange of ideas in the field of clinical toxicology  among various poison centres in the region  and it aims to reinforce excellence and enhancement of the standards of medical toxicology in Asia Pacific region by creating awareness through education, training and research to improvement in practices and research in the field of medical toxicology. For promoting and creating awareness among the Asia Pacific Region it collaborates with the international institutions, world health organization’s government organizations, professional bodies to promote and conduct scientific studies and investigations. Asia Pacific Journal of Medical Toxicology is an open access journal that dedicated to enhance the science of medical toxicology. It mainly focusses on research in the Asia Pacific Region and publishes articles on clinical and epidemiological features of toxicology, poisoning, addictions, drug interactions and their adverse effects. The upcoming 15th International Scientific Conference of the Asia Pacific Medical Association of Medical Toxicology 2016 is going to be held in the month of November, 2016 at Singapore. “A Toxicologist’s Rendezvous – Meeting of the Disciplines”.
