APVRS was formed in the year of 2006, to reach the growing demand of vitreoretinal experts in Asia Pacific region. The aim of the Asia-Pacific Vitreo-retina Society (APVRS) is to assist the development of the vitreoretinal subspecialty in the Asia-Pacific region, to provide a good platform for exchange skills and knowledge of ophthalmologists in the vitreoretinal subspecialty, and to foster and disseminate eye care information for vitreoretinal diseases and related problems among the general public.APVRS shared the same view about the importance of public awareness of vitreoretinal diseases .The late Prof. Yasuo Tano was the Founding President of APVRS. In 2009, Prof. Ian Constable continues Prof. Tano’s endowment in continuing the Society’s mission. Under the strong leadership of Prof. Constable and the APVRS Council, the society will continue to extend bigger and stronger.The objective of Asia Pacific Vitreo retina society - To engross, advance and further the research, study, education, academic exchanges of skills related to vitreoretinal diseases.To foster and extend knowledge of vitreoretinal diseases and relevant issues among the public through providing or arranging for the delivery of paper online.APVRS promote collaboration and interaction among organizations, institutions and other associations in the Asia-Pacific region.To foster and manage research and study into any respect of vitreoretinal diseases and to disperse the results of such research and study.
