With current advances in molecular biology and genetics, many more species of bees are being discovered. Asian Apicultural Association (AAA) establishes a network for the communication and the exchange of information between bee scientists and beekeepers in Asia. AAA has been organizing conferences on Bees and Beekeeping Since 1993 and so far it organized 12 conferences in different Asian countries since. Every conference has provided a platform for the people in the related field to share experiences and exchange their knowledge views and ideas on the latest technology on various aspects of beekeeping and promote the exchange of scientific and general information relating to honeybee sciences and apiculture in Asia, and it works towards the engagement and encouragement of international co-operation in the analytical research of problems of common interest. There is a need of coordinating efforts on bee research, diversity and extension of beekeeping promotions and to make those efforts relevant to the business communities and the people at large. The increasing awareness in beekeeping in world is a positive sign in conservation and utilization of bees on multiple economic scale benefits as they are efficient pollinators of various flowering plants in the terrestrial ecosystem. A Singapore based plant science industry CropLife Asia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Asian Apicultural Association (AAA) to support an initiative in research to study the bee species and populations in Asia. aaa organizes a biennial conferences which covers the areas like bee Genetics and Breeding, Asian Bees and Beekeeping, Beekeeping Technology and Equipment, Beekeeping For Rural Development, Bumble Bee Biology, Breeding And Management.
