Association of Anesthesia Clinical Directors

The Association of Clinical Anesthesia directors was created in October 1988 by a group of clinical anesthesia directors who were invited to the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) annual meeting in San Francisco to discuss the clinical anesthesia and O.R. management. At that meeting, it was obvious that each individual management issues are universal to all and that common solutions could be found by the association and dialogue. The goal of the company is to provide a common forum for anesthesiologists and their primary responsibility is operating room management. Meeting recognizes that, given the changing health care environment in which they practice, the efficiency of the operating room, productivity and cost control are increasingly vital for survival. So, AACD provides physicians with an interest in the business side of managing the operating room and the chance to communicate thoughts to partners, to meet the anesthesiologists who have more experience than them in this area, and share in a common forum for discussion of issues.
