Association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists

In Sacramento, CA, 13 local engineering geologists met in June 1957, to discuss the desideratum for organization of a society in the concrete field of engineering geology. This group set up the framework of the California association of Engineering Geologists during the next eight months, by formulating the aims of the organization, membership qualifications, and a definition of engineering geology. In February 1958 three Sections (Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco) were established. The association of Environmental & Engineering Geologists (AEG), is the principal American sodality of professionals in the fields of soils engineering, engineering geology, hydrological , geotechnical , and environmental geology. The sodality moreover incorporates basic designers, petroleum engineers, scientists structural architects, geologists, and others in fields identifying with building geography and its impacts on nature . As per the laws of the Condition of California the Sodality was fused on June 19, 1960.
