The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, generally just FIGO ("fee'go") as the acronym of its French name Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et d'Obstétrique, is an overall NGO association speaking to obstetricians and gynecologists in more than one hundred regions. It was established on 26 July 1954 in Geneva, Switzerland as an association speaking to 42 national social orders. Enrollment is presently made out of 124 expert social orders of obstetricians and gynecologists around the world. The central command of FIGO was at first situated at Geneva, Switzerland. The FIGO Secretariat is situated at London. The point of FIGO is to "advance the prosperity of ladies and to raise the standard of practice in obstetrics and gynecology". It is financed by levy of part social orders, awards, and instructive exercises.
