Astronomical Association of Queensland

The Astronomical Association of Queensland (AAQ) was framed in June 1978 through the amalgamation of the Astronomical Society of Queensland (established 1927) and the Astronomers' Association of Queensland (established 1969). The Astronomical Society of Queensland itself was the inheritor of the prior Brisbane Astronomical Society framed in 1896. The Association's primary goals are the cultivating of the investigation of space science, incorporating exploration and state funded training, and the consolation and backing of observational cosmology.
