Australian Neuroscience Society

The Australian Neuroscience Society was established in 1971 as a casual accumulation of intrigued Australian neuroscientists. It held yearly gatherings with a focal subject from 1972-1980. At the 1979 "Neurotoxins" meeting at Flinders, it was chosen to frame an appropriate society. At the 1980 Canberra meeting, a formal society was made with a chamber, which met interestingly on Thursday seventh February 1980. At the tenth yearly meeting held at Flinders University in January 1981, the constitution of the Society was acknowledged and the Society got to be fused in the Australian Capital Territory amid that year. Yearly gatherings have been held since 1980, more often than not in late January, early February.
