Proteomics is the massive scale study of the protein complement of a living organism. The Australasian genetic science Society (APS) aims to market and facilitate genetic science analysis and connected topics within the Australia and New Zealand. The APS membership is drawn from tutorial, business and government laboratories. To help within the dissemination of information within the field, the APS has been organising associate annual meeting in Lorne, Victoria, since 1996. Additionally to the Lorne meeting, the APS beside alternative learned societies co-organises native, national and international conferences among the region, additionally as workshops and alternative forums for the exchange of genetic science advances and techniques. The APS acts a liaison body for communication with state and central additionally as a central purpose for the coordination of proteome-related programmes and resources.

Student engagement with the society is powerfully inspired through move fellowships, reduced registration rates and SoAPS - Students of Australasian genetic science Society, a student body that aims to extend communication, broaden the knowledge domain and foster collaboration between the scholar members.
