The Austrian Society for Orthopaedic Surgery has more than 60-year history. It has been founded in the year 1937 as "Association of Orthodontists Vienna", it receives its present name in 1967. The association is called "Austrian Society for Orthopaedic Surgery", referred to in short society. This allowed the then president, Prim. Dr. Schönbauer, the company a higher profile associated with growing class consciousness to give. With great commitment this aspiration of all subsequent presidents was followed until today. With today more than a thousand members, this is not only object but also challenge. It has its seat in Vienna and its activities spread to the entire federal territory of Austria. Expansion and development of orthopedics and orthopedic surgery exclusive of any profit motive and with due regard to the relevant provisions.
