The Austrian Society for Gastroenterology  (the words "and Hepatology" came in 1990 to do so) was founded 1967/68 club legally. That the establishment of ÖGGH has held relatively late due to the fact that the Austrians usually members of the German Society of Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS) were, which was founded in 1925 in Vienna.
