Austrian Society of Gastroenterology & Hepatology

The Austrian Society for Gastroenterology  (the words "and Hepatology" came in 1990 to do so) was founded 1967/68 club legally. That the establishment of ÖGGH has held relatively late due to the fact that the Austrians usually members of the German Society of Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS) were, which was founded in 1925 in Vienna. In Germany, the 1st Conference on Digestive and Metabolic Diseases in 1914 in Bad Homburg held under Ewald. Since the same year began the WW1, it only came in 1920 under Boas is in session. It was decided to alternate days in the future in Berlin and Vienna. 1922, it was re-Bad Homburg. 1924 Berlin. 1925 Wien under Kuttner (Internist at the Virchow Hospital in Berlin). Only on the occasion of the 5th session of the Society of Digestive and Metabolic Diseases was established with statutes and fixed membership.
