The automotive industry is by far one of the most regulated one in Europe. This regulatory framework comprises around 80 EU Directives and over 70 international regulatory agreements, which covers technical issues and standardization parameters. Through its member companies the society ensures technical, regulatory and practical expertise in the following priority fields:

The society has the following objectives:

• To advocate the common interests, policies and positions of the automobile industry;
• To collaborate with the European institutions so as to advance understanding of industry-related issues
• To frame an effective policy and legislation to be at par with both European and global levels,
• To facilitate as a portal for expert knowledge on vehicle-related regulation;
• Gathering and analyzing authentic reliable data and information about the industry
• Take a close scrutiny of activities that affect the automobile industry,
• Provide ways for sustainable ways to adapt to the increasing global challenges of mobility, sustainability and competitiveness.
