The British Orthodontic Society(BOS) is an enrolled philanthropy, and an organization constrained by assurance, not having offer capital. BOS initially appeared on 1 July 1994 by the unification of the five existing national orthodontic social orders. The establishing social orders were: The British Society for the Study of Orthodontics, established in 1907, and the most established national orthodontic culture, The Consultant Orthodontists Group, shaped in 1964 to speak to Orthodontic Consultants in the healing facility benefit, The Community Orthodontists Section of the British Association of Orthodontists, to speak to group orthodontists, The British Association of Orthodontists ("BAO"), set up in 1965 to speak to authority orthodontic specialists.
