Canadian Association of Optometrists

The Association of Optometrists in Canada (CAO) is the national association for eye doctors in Canada and 85% of Optometrists are in the members of this society. The Canadian Association of Optometrists initially established in 1941 and officially incorporated in 1948. Doctors of Optometry (OD) are independent primary health professionals and they are the front line of ocular health. The Association of Optometrists in Canadian is dedicated to collaboratively advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of ocular diseases and maintains the high end standards of eye care by improving the of optimal vision and hygiene of eye, with the support of all Canadians. The Canadian society of optometrists is supported by world council of optometry. The association is composed of president, Chief Executive Officer, director and manager and other necessary staff.  CAO organizes national and international conferences to bring optimists together from across the country and glob. Optometry is a regulated professional occupancy. The Doctor of Optometry completes a Bachelor of Science degree or post bachelor degree, followed by a four year Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited university optometry school. In each year, nearly 130 new ODs graduate from the two Canadian schools of optometry. Also, those who complete graduation from US schools of optometry return to Canada to practice and internationally trained dentists. After completion of the optometry degree, graduate is needed to satisfy provincial licensing prerequisites in the province or territory in which they intend for the practice of dentistry. The process includes a national examination administered by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry. The governing body is required for licensure by the provincial or territorial. The stated requirements that ensure the people receive the highest standards of ocular care. The vision at work is a collectively industrial program for protective eyewear that has served the eye care necessity of Ontario’s peoples for over 20 years. The association offers our patients the expertise of more than 500 doctors of optometry, catering vision at work is rare because it is provided only by ophthalmologists, professionals of primary health care, who provide their expertise guidance to ensure that the safety eyewear needs of employees are met.
