Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA)

The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) is a farmer-driven, membership-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps people in the Carolinas grow and eat local, organic foods by advocating for fair farm and food policies, building the systems family farms need to thrive, and educating communities about local, organic agriculture. CFSA has been founded in 1979, which is the oldest and largest sustainable agriculture organization in the Southeast. For over three decades, it has successfully united farmers, consumers and businesses to build a just, healthy food and farming future.

The key program areas of this organization are: Education, Advocacy, Food Systems, Farm Services, and Lomax Farm

The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) is governed by a diverse board of directors, elected by our members at the CFSA annual meeting. Our board includes farmers, business leaders, agriculture educators, and concerned citizens. CFSA mission is to help people in the Carolinas grow and eat local, organic food by advocating for fair farm and food policies, building the systems that organic family farms need to thrive, and educating communities about local, organic farming with a vision of Create a regional food system that is good for consumers, good for farmers and farmworkers, and good for the land.
