Central New York Dietetic Association has a enrollment of over 100 nutrition professionals covering Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and St Lawrence counties. As a neighborhood association of the New York State Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, we stake in the same mission at the local level to lead the future of the dietetics profession while serving the public through the promotion of ideal nutrition and well-being The CNYDA is here to represent and advocate for the local dietetics Center through the promotion of optimal health, and well being relating to nutrition Central New York Dietetic Association is a sector of the New York State Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (NYSAND). The NYSAND is an organization of nutrition specialists, residing, working or attending school in New York State. Affiliated with the Seminary of Nutrition and Dietetics, NYSAND has over 5,000 members. There are ten district associations within NYSAND, housing all regions of the state, from Long Island to Plattsburgh. A Board of Directors and statewide committees and councils direct and form the work of NYSAND. Members of The New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics include Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians, Registered. Many of our members hold New York State Certification as Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN).A Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a food and nutrition adroit who has met academic and professional requirements. A RD/RDN can hold additional certifications in specialized areas of process, such as pediatric or renal dietitian and diabetes education. About half of all registered dietitians work in clinical settings, private practice or health-care aptitude. Many effort in society and public health settings, academia and analysis, business, journalism, sports dietitian and wellness programs. Dietetic Technicians, Registered, (DTRs), often work in assistance with Registered Dietitians/Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, they screen, evaluate, and educate patients. A DTR will adviser and assist in the management of patient with diseases such as diabetes and obesity. DTRs work in clinical settings, health-care facilities, colleges, restaurants, food Industries, wellness centers, food service providers, public health agencies, government and society programs.
