Challenger Society for Marine Science

The Challenger Society for Marine Science  is  established in 1903 in the United Kingdom around the interdisciplinary subject of marine science. The central objectives of the Challenger Society are:To disseminate knowledge of marine science with a view to encourage a wider interest in the study of  world's oceans and an awareness of the proper management, to contribute to public discussions  on the development of marine science.The Challenger Society have members in Universities, research institutes, regulatory agencies in UK and worldwide. The society thereby is the main academic society of the UK academic marine scienece community. The UK marine science community is large and world-leading with scientists around world .The UK marine science community is second this gives the Challenger Society. The Challenger aims to members by provide a voice for this community, and to support it and encourage their activities by its publications, scientific meetings and bursaries schemes. The Society is found in 1906 and a century later combine together scientists working and researching in all areas of the marine sciences.
