Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists

Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists (CLAO) was established in 1963, and incorporated as a 501C (6) organization in 1964, the CLAO, has developed to become a major medical department association. CLAO is committed to provide ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other eye care professionals with preeminent information in contact lens and related vision science. The Mission of CLAO is to improve the quality of medical eye-care for the public by gearing up comprehensive ophthalmologists and other eye-care professionals with training in contact lenses and other related eye care sciences. With excellent education as its first and foremost priority, CLAO produces user-friendly learning programs that include contact lenses and other aspects of vision correction. These programs will be informed the members through: a peer-reviewed scientific journal, a yearly national meeting, courses and symposia, various regional meetings, an e-newsletter and other media.

Key to CLAO's main goal is backing for the office-based ophthalmologist, optometrist, and other contact lens professionals; and consequently CLAO instructive projects underscore the pragmatic and also the hypothetical side of contact lens science and vision correction. CLAO educational programs are intended to help experts at all phases of their professions. CLAO endeavors to make settings in which scientists and clinicians can meet, gain from each other, and come away enriched. Similarly, CLAO expects to be an association in which new experts gain from those with experience and experienced specialists pick up the fulfilment of tutoring young experts. It is no wonder, then, that CLAO has turned out to be broadly known as a spot where accomplishment is perceived and where enduring connections are made and kept up.

This CLAO Society is supported by the presence and history of 47 presidents and 14 Board of Directors and 1000+ society members from different countries across the globe. So far, CLAO successfully completed 7 conferences in USA and Canada.
