Croatian Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry Students Association

Croatian Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry Students' Association is independent non-profit association. It has been founded in 1994 at the initiative of the Student Council with the aim of improving student life and bringing students together.
As an independent association, CPSA exercises cooperation with partners in both country and the world with the aim of realization of various projects and campaigns. We are proud members of European (EPSA - European Pharmaceutical Students' Association) and international organization (IPSF - International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation), as well as the Alcohol Policy Youth Network (APYN). Our members regularly participate in conferences that are yearly being held by these organizations. It is the membership in the IPSF that allows us to participate in the Student Exchange Programmed (SEP), one of our biggest projects. SEP implies an exchange of students and knowledge and allows for the students to do an internship in any country member of IPSF.CPSA team consists of six-membered executive committee and three-membered supervisory board. Members of both boards are elected at the beginning of each academic year by CPSA members. All pharmacy and medical biochemistry students from Zagreb and Split can be part of CPSA and can at any time join the association. Pharmacists with a state professional exam can become members of the CPSA. The pharmacists working in the field of health services and performing pharmaceutical activities, Pharmacists who work in community and hospital pharmacies are responsible for drug supply, dispensing medicines, production and quality control of magistral and officinal formulas, adverse drugs reporting and giving information about medicines for health professionals and general population. This systematic clinical practice has shown a significant decrease in drug consumption. In community pharmacies beside basic services, pharmacists carry out some advanced services as disposal of waste medicines, night services, blood pressure measurement and weight measurement. “Croatian day of pharmacies” is celebrated each year on 29th of October.
