European Association of Pharma Biotechnology

The European Association of Pharma Biotechnology represents a central network to promote  and develop pharmaceutical biotechnology in Europe. The European Association of Pharma Biotechnology is a professional association dedicated to the advancement of biotechnology in pharmaceutical sciences, specifically as applied to medicinal drugs, industrial materials, processes, products and their associated issues. Its members constitute specialists employed in industry, government and university laboratories, biotech companies and scientific organisations. Members are scientists, companies, departments of companies and organisations from academia, but also industry, especially pharmaceutical industry and related sciences involved in pharma biotechnology. EAPB is dedicated to the advancement of biotechnology in pharmaceutical sciences, specifically as applied to medicinal drugs, processes, technologies, and associated issues. Its members constitute professionals from biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, governmental authorities, academia and scientific organisations. The intention for founding the new association on April 2, 2000, was to promote and strengthen Pharma Biotechnology in Europe. EAPB wanted to become the missing link between academia, industry and regulatory bodies. So far the founding members represented the entities university and industry. Contribute to improving human health by exploiting the potential biopharmaceutical research by Promoting research and development in the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology in Europe. Promoting interactions between academia, biotechnology and pharma companies, and regulatory bodies within the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology in Europe to support creativity, foster innovations and facilitate the commercialization of scientific findings, Promoting appropriate education and training for students and employees in the field of pharmaceutical biotechnology and their harmonisation in Europe and Participating in the creation of position papers and in the revision of guidelines within the European pharmaceutical biotechnology.
