European Chapter of the Society of Flight Test Engineers

European Chapter of the Society of Flight Test Engineers extends in Europe in 1986. This Society is a fraternity of engineers whose main aim will be flight testing of aircraft, with the purpose of advancing flight test engineering throughout the industry by providing technical and fraternal communication among individuals, both domestic and international, in the allied engineering fields of test operations, analysis, instrumentation and data systems. In 1968, this association was started in Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Washington. Their main goal was to improved communication between flight test engineering and stated their thoughts extremely well in the SFTE Constitution.  More than 1000 members are affiliated with aviation interests ranging from home-built airplanes to air transport and military aircraft. These members are also represented from around twenty different countries.  Members are involved in flight testing of aircraft (fixed and rotary wing) and missiles. The European Chapter extends or the benefit of both Americans and Europeans.  This society organizes the conferences yearly across the globe.  Their board meetings are arranged 2 or 3 times per year. The SFTE EC president meets with the SFTE board at the main SFTE annual symposium, normally in USA. Members of this society includes the professionals who are currently engaged in flight test engineering, professionals who are not currently engaged in flight test engineering, but possess scientific attainments or experience, which qualifies them to cooperate with flight test engineers, current students enrolled in the sciences, mathematics or engineering, for recent graduates of recognized Test Pilot Schools and also  business enterprises engaged in an activity which aids or contributes to the state of the art in flight test engineering.
