The World's Poultry Science Association established on July 18, 1912 is a unique organization that strives to advance knowledge and understanding of all aspects of poultry related science and the poultry business and industry. Cyprus, Denmark, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, India, Ireland, Germany, Russia, the UK and the USA, the Netherlands, and Norway, are some of the major countries associated with the WPSA from its initial times. The major role of Worlds Poultry Science Association is to encourage, and help facilitate, liaison among research scientists and educators, and between those engaged in the diverse sectors of the poultry industry.
Worlds Poultry Science Association is a non-profit making organization; majority of its income is generated almost entirely on membership subscriptions from worldwide poultry companies, although a number of poultry companies around the world provide generous sponsorship, which is mainly involved in the production costs of the World's Poultry Science Journal and for other research purposes. WPSA is a large association with around 8,000 members across the globe. Two major federations are currently working for organizing high-profile international congresses and conferences around the globe, these federations are the European Federation and Asia-Pacific Federation.
