French Society of Genetic Toxicology (SFTG)

The SFTG was established in 1983 with an aim to promote the study of genotoxic agents present in the environment. The society is heading under the president ship of Ludovic Lehegarat. The society is headquartered in Paris, France. The main objectives of the society are as follows: To obtain accuracy, quality and reliability in genetic toxicology services, To discuss about risks, benefits and alternative approaches, Intellectual scientific stimulation, Willingly acknowledgement of innovative skills, Within the bounds of expertise, educate the public, Interacting with eminent personalities in particular field and general or lay publics, and Study and Analysis of environmental problems. The French Society of Genetic Toxicology embrace fields of study that includes: Analytical chemistry, Atmospheric sciences and engineering, Physiology, Risk Assessment, Organic chemistry, Water sciences and engineering, and Soil sciences and engineering. The SFTG is linked to other societies also such as: Welcome to the European Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society, Association for Research in Toxicology, International Association of Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Societies, and Associate group of Toxicology Teachers. The SFTG organizes events to encourage research in the field of genetic toxicology. The SFTG has organized the following conferences: ‘Genotoxicity: Exposure risks assessment and health effects’ was organized during 2-3 july, 2015 in Caen, France, ‘Eco - Geno - Toxicology of Nanomaterials Speaker Presentations’ was held on 29 oct, 2014 in Paris, France, ‘Low doses genotoxicity markers and signatures’ was held during 23-24 june, 2016 in Paris, France, ‘Genetic variability, genotoxicity and cancer’ was held during 24-25 may, 2012 in Rennes, France, and ‘Risk Assessment in Genetic Toxicology’ was held during 12-15 november, 2011 in Paris, France.
