The German Cardiac Society mainly emphasis on the Cardiovascular Research (DSK).It was funded in the year 1927 and the oldest cardiological society in Europe.  The German Cardiac Society is a member of the ESC (European Society of Cardiology) since 1952.The GSC comprises of more than 9701 members. This society promotes the scientific work in all areas of cardiovascular research. It is also involved in the promotion of cardiology and angiology in medical devices in annually held conferences & meetings. Various magazines associated to specific fields; Clinical Research in Cardiology, Basic Research in Cardiology, Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, Pacemaker therapy and electrophysiology are being released by this society. It is amalgamate of members that include 18 board members, 34 assistants & more than 30 administrative members & other associated members. The GCS also offers continuing education and training Academy “Cardiology” since 2001 that are of great training content in the form of its own courses and training of the highest quality. The society has also organised a new Clinician-Scientist Program (CSP) with an aim to strengthen profile of Clinician-Scientists. The DGK would thus encourage young doctors to become scientifically independent with an original and innovative, cardiovascular basic or translational or clinical research projects and to provide in addition to the clinical training sufficient time available to a science project for your own profile building sustainable to edit.
