Indonesian Orthopaedic Association

Indonesian Orthopaedic Association (PABOI) gives information for specialists who can participate, absorb and exchange their knowledge, general information about P2KB / COD (Continuing Orthopaedic Development) program from PABOI which is required & necessary to increase medical services, fellow member’s data association. The association was a thought of nine surgeons and was held in Hotel Homan on the 25 September 1969 declared the PABOI at the Biannual General Assembly Meeting of the IKABI was accepted anonymously, Dr. R. Gray from Adelaide who was the consultant on September 1969 of the training program acted as witness of the foundation. The sub associations of PABOI are Indonesian Orthopaedic Spine Society, Indonesian Hip & Knee Society, Indonesian Paediatric Orthopaedic Society and Indonesian Orthopaedic Society for Sport Medicine, Indonesian Association for Upper Limb & Microsurgery, Indonesian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society and Indonesian Orthopaedic Rheumatology Society. The very important milestone of the PABOI is because of the Department of Health decided that the Indonesian Orthopaedic training program, helped and supported by the CARE Medico should be able to run by the local staff, after 7 years of aids by CARE Medico. It allowed accepting general practitioners after they finished their national duties to work at health centres in The Rural area. This society will always try to support and give its best to supporting the members.
