The International Geothermal Association (IGA), founded in 1988, is a scientific, educational and cultural organization established to operate worldwide. It is a non-political, non-profit, non-governmental organization with consultative status to the UN and special observer status to the Green Climate Fund. The International Geothermal Association (IGA) is a worldwide organisation, with members in 63 countries. It encourages research, development and utilisation of geothermal resources through the compilation, publication and dissemination of scientific and technical data and information.
