Kentucky Society of Professional Geologists

Geology means the science which treats the earth as a whole; the investigation, analysis, classification, and location of the rocks and other materials by which earth’s crust is composed; the study of contained of earth crust like minerals, gases and liquids; and the study of geologic materials and processes. The intension of Kentucky Society of Professional Geologists Society are 1.To proceed the profession, practice, and science of Geology within the Commonwealth of Kentucky and to increase professional and scientific interactions among all geologists in Kentucky. 2. To spread information, provide a forum, and offer educational opportunities to the geological community. 3. To support and promote Kentucky's program for Registration of Professional Geologists. 4. To participate in legislative activities as they relate to the practice of geology in Kentucky. 5. To promote academic education and scientific research in geology. 6. To inspire in its members’ the highest standards of professional ethics. KSPG will conduct training or workshops on future for professional geologists, geologic hazards associated with unconsolidated sediments, Past training/workshops included- Review of Practical Geology: Short Course for Professional Examination Candidates. To update the scientific world about the recent research activates, news and information newsletter, publication, eNews, events are the excellent initiative taken by this society.
