Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology

From 1980’s, the arena of molecular biology initiated to develop fast in Korea. The need for the platform offering cutting-edged knowledge, promoting collaboration, and fair estimation of researchers and their activities became broadly documented. This directed to initiation of the Korean Society for Molecular Biology (KSMB) with 332 founding members on April 15, 1989. KSMB changed the official title to Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology (KSMCB) and it joined with International Federation for Cell Biology (IFCB) in 2001. KSMCB has prolonged to one of the largest and most distinguished academic societies in the field of Life Sciences in Korea. 20 KSMCB-affiliated regional branches and special study groups are there. Presently, KSMCB has beyond Twelve thousand members.
The primary goal of KSMCB is to promote research happenings of cellular and molecular biologists in Korea and to serve them with the high profile forum for exchange of new information and ideas. In order to be an internationally well-known global core society, KSMCB would like to provide as a platform for molecular and cellular biologists.
