ISHR was formed in 1968, was initially known as the ‘International Study Group for Research in Cardiac Metabolism, until 1976 when the current name was adopted. Over the years, membership has grown to include around 3,000 members from the Australasian, Chinese, European, Indian, Japanese, Latin American and North American sections. Today cardiovascular research invokes expertise from multiple disciplines and specialties. Their aim is to advance the revelation and dispersal of learning in the cardiovascular sciences on an overall premise through distributions, congresses and other media and disclosure and scattering of learning in every aspect of cardiovascular science and pharmaceutical. Main objectives are to advance the trading of thoughts on an overall premise amongst researchers and clinicians intrigued by all parts of cardiovascular science and drug and to arrange and bolster national and global congresses dedicated to all parts of cardiovascular research. In April, 2016 this society arranged their 22nd World congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
