Malaysian Plant Protection Society

Malaysian Plant Protection Society, formed in 1976, MAPPS contains a massive skilled work force base. Its membership has risen from 50 in 1976 to over 500 in 2001 of that 25th of the full membership are life members. Over 500th of the members are presently actively engaged in varied aspects of plant protection analysis and implementation. There also are members from overseas, specifically Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Australia, Japan, Canada, Uk and also the America. The majority of the members belong to non-public agrochemical corporations, followed closely by government analysis organizations, tutorial institutions and plantation trade. MAPPS, being an expert society, is poised to participate within the development and implementation of IPM programmes in asian nation. The society’s involvement within the drafting of the national IPM policy by virtue of its membership within the commission bears testimony of its recognition by the relevant authorities as a crucial organization that may contribute towards plant protection.
