Mining and Metallurgical Society of America is a an organization that is professional and dedicated to increasing public awareness and understanding about how the mined materials and mining are useful to modern society and wellbeing of human . It delivers this message to two different following public sectors:

-Public policy makers including elected officials and regulatory agencies; and

-To all levels of the educational system.

It has provided valuable information and guidance on various of useful public policy issues to federal, state and local governments that are dealing with mining.
To educational programs it has made substantial contributions that help teachers inform students that how minerals are used and mining. In the ninety years since then, has played an important role in a series of actions in industries for the benefit.

This society was started by 114 charter members who started the men of extraordinary vision and who recognized the need for a mining society professionally to focus on the complex policy issues facing this industry.
