It works with the UK health sector to improve diagnosis, treatment, and management of IBD. The Crohn’s and Colitis UK charity was founded in 1979 by Robert and Patricia Annetts, after their daughter was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. It has been dedicated to giving a voice to everyone affected by the conditions and it has aimed to be an equal partnership of patients, families and health professionals.

Establishing a support network for people affected by Crohn’s and Colitis, to work with all those to achieve a better quality of life, access to the best specialist services, providing high quality information, practical help and personal care that enable people to manage their conditions and ultimately find a cure are goals of the association.
