New England Association of Chemistry Teachers

In the year 1898, a group of high school and college teachers laid the foundation for this association at Malden, MA High School. In 1910, this was incorporated in Massachusetts. This day, its membership also embraces middle school tutors, industrial allies and also administrators who share common industry in the field of Chemistry. The prime motto of NEACT is to encourage the teaching and learning of chemistry. In a school year, four meetings are held by the in each of its four topographical divisions, ordinarily on the first Saturdays of October, December, March, and May. The major being the one organized in August.  Invited speakers at these meetings, impart information on novel advances in chemical training, research and also industry. The updates provided in these meetings ate theme centric and they also serve as efficient platforms for networking. NEACT Newsletter, which is published five times a year and NEACT Journal, twice a year are the association’s primary publications.  An email list is usually made available which serves handy to the members to communicate with each other. The Association also sponsors the John A. Timm reward to distinguish persons who have made notable contributions towards chemistry research.
