New York State Nurses Association

New York State Nurses Association is Established in 1972 and located in Albany, its Pension Plan and Benefits Fund are independent, multiemployer plans implementing health insurance and retirement benefits for RNs and other medical professionals in the New York metropolitan area performed under collective bargaining by NYSNA. The plans are governed by two Timbers of Trustees, which have an equal number of representatives from NYSNA and the management of participating facilities. Here at the scenario and Fund office, we have approximately 45 employees on staff dedicated to providing the highest level of benefits exclusively to our participants.

NYSNA Victories are uniting with patients to keep hospitals open for care, assure patient care, and stop the for-profit takeover of Hospitals. The Vision of NYSNA is they are 37,000 nurses productioning together to win safe staffing, keep hospitals open for care, stop the Wall Street aggression on our patients, and win healthcare for all. In 2011, we started an action to convert our union. The old NYSNA was too supervisory. Members did not have a voice or power. We voted vigorously to advance that, and we are making NYSNA a truly constitutional and powerful union.
