North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association

NAFDMA is dedicated to nurturing the farm direct marketing industry. It was formed by a group of farmers and agency representatives in 1986 with a vision to advance farm direct marketing in US and Canada through business and social network. NAFDMA is about support, and today’s associates find solutions for each other by connecting on-line, by mail, by phone, and at live events.  They not only help each other to make money, but more importantly, they help each other to SAVE money. Its members are farmers, extension agents, farmers’ market managers, government officials, industry suppliers, and others who are part of the farm direct marketing industry in North America. Its members are involved with agritourism, pick your own, on-farm retail, consumer-supported agriculture, markets and direct delivery. They grow crops, vegetables, nursery, greenhouse fruits and Christmas trees. They raise livestock; make cheese, wine, maple syrup and pickles. Some have created the foundation for lasting memories, incredible farm visits and traditions. There are many great reasons to support family farms: Farmland preservation, Food security. Locally grown foods, Quality. Quality of life. Taste and Freshness. Farmers represent less than 2% of the U.S. population yet produce 100 % of what the population require. Fewer and fewer people remember what it is like growing up on the farm or even visiting a grandparents’ or other relative’s farm. NAFDMA is dedicated to support family farms. Direct marketing is for those who choose to sell their products directly to consumers.
