Norwegian Biologist Association (BIO) was incorporated on 1981, and currently has about 1000 members. Norwegian Biologist Association is open to all the biologists in education and to the people who owe the interest in biology can be a support member of BIO.
The mission is to develop the sustainable society by progressing all aspects of biology, new and old, including all established and currently founded biological disciplines, in a balanced fashion and present them in a clear and understandable manner to include the users in industry and academia as well as to the general public.
The initiative came from the advice of: Professor Haupt from Germany contacted Dax, United Kingdom exploring the forecasts of integration of activities in biologists associations in Europe. He stated that lOB already planned to invite professional biologists’ society to a conference in London. At this meeting in spring 1974 it was known that the Italian Ordine Nazionale dei Biologi was in a preliminary status to move Brussels with the attempt to unify professional biologists associations on a European basis.
