The Norwegian Chemical Society, founded in 1893, is a professional society for chemists. Formed in 1893, its purpose is to promote the interest and understanding of chemistry and chemical technology. The organization has its contribution to Chemistry in Norway and to Nanotechnology. The organization has six board members who are responsible for the daily running of the society, representation of Norway in IUPAC and FECS, cooperation with other societies, organization of annual meetings, national meetings and lectures and conducting special projects.
