Nova Scotia Down Syndrome Society

The Canadian Down Syndrome Society is a national nonprofitmaking and a Registered Charitable Organization giving information, advocacy and education about Down syndrome. The Down syndrome community in Canada and the CDSS have made great strides since our founding in 1987. It has seen advances to medical care, which improve and save the lives of individuals with Down syndrome; life hope has more than doubled.   The CDSS give assistance to self- advocates, parents and families over all phases of life. All people are respected, fully participating citizens is the Vision of the society and nurture awareness and provide material on Down syndrome through the prenatal, early childhood, school years, adulthood, and retirement phases of life.
