On 1963 Pakistan Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology was established with the name as Pakistan Society of Biochemists. Prof. M. Ataur Rehman and Prof. M.I.D. Chughtai are the President and Secretary, independently. Initial name of the Society was changed to the present one in the year 1997 as per the overall examples. As far back as its establishment the Society has been endeavoring to propel the sciences of natural science, sub-nuclear science and biotechnology in the country. With the advancement of investigative activities all things considered, the activity in biochemical sciences has similarly created with extended number of scientists working in this field in the country.
