The group of pediatric nephrologists is very active in maintaining international cooperation and using research grants. It established National Registry of Dialyzed and Transplanted Children and since 2003 the annual incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy and transplantation activity has been published yearly. The group engaged in experimental nephrology has international cooperation for a long time, especially with University of Wuerzburg and with neighbouring countries. The third group is focused on clinical nephrology, namely on the problems of bone and mineral disorders (vitamin D, calcium homeostasis regulation), diabetic nephropathy, cardiovascular risk factors in patients with early stages of CKD.
